Prior to her performance, Alicia appeared on television talk show The Panel, where she gave an interview and a performance of “If I Ain’t Got You.” Her episode would air the following Wednesday night. 

Off the back of her “Songs in A Minor Tour” in December 2002, the singer took the stage for the first time Down Under. She would return for an official tour in October 2004. It was announced in late August that the tour would commence, with promotion from The Frontier Touring Company. She would perform first on the 22nd in Melbourne, then hitting Sydney and Brisbane to fly next to New Zealand. Returning in 2008 and 2013.
